Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill has sent a terse message back to Glee creator Ryan Murphy after Murphy branded the band 'assholes'.
"Dear Ryan Murphy, let it go," Nathan tweeted. "See a therapist, get a manicure, buy a new bra. Zip your lip and focus on educating 7 yr olds how to say fuck."
Murphy blurted out his abuse at the band after they refused to let him use their song 'Use Somebody' in his hit TV show.
Early today he said, 'Fuck you Kings of Leon. They're self-centred assholes, and they're missing the big picture. They missed that a seven-year-old kid can see someone close to their age singing a Kings of Leon song, which will maybe make them want to join a glee club or pick up a musical instrument'.
't's like, OK, hate on arts education. You can make fun of 'Glee' all you want, but at its heard, what we really do is turn kids on to music'.
Followill apologised in a later tweet. "I'm sorry 4 anyone that misconstrued my comments as homophobic or mysoginistic. I'm so not that kind of person. I really do apologize."
Caleb Followill also responded via twitter saying, "This was never meant as a slap in the face to Glee or to music education or to fans of the show."
