BBC Children in Need is delighted to announce that world-famous Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer, Scottish virtuoso percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie, British singer-songwriters James Morrison and Laura Mvula, and country-duo The Shires are the latest acts to be announced as part of the 'One Big Night' line-up, all in aid of disadvantaged children across the UK.
Sir Tom will perform with his band and the newly announced special guests. The show will also include comedy sketches depicting some of the many lively moments of his illustrious musical career.
Sir Tom Jones said: "I am delighted that 5 Seconds of Summer, Dame Evelyn, Laura, James and The Shires are going to be joining us on the 8th October for what is set to be a night of great music and fantastic comedy. All of them will bring something very different to the show, so I know people attending on the night will be in for a very special treat."
5 Seconds of Summer commented: "We are really excited to be coming to London to perform at 'One Big Night for BBC Children in Need,' it is going to be a great show, and all for a great cause. We look forward to seeing you all there!"
Speaking of the concert, Dame Evelyn Glennie said: "I am very much looking forward to joining Sir Tom and Rob on the 8 October for what is set to be a fantastic evening in aid of a truly brilliant cause."
James Morrison said of joining the line-up: "BBC Children in Need is a fantastic cause and I am thrilled to be taking part in what is set to be a great evening amongst some amazing acts. Sir Tom and Rob are pulling together something really special, so I look forward to seeing you all there."
Laura Mvula commented: "I was a fan of BBC Children in Need growing up and have been a supporter ever since, so I am delighted to be taking part in what I am sure will be a truly spectacular evening."
The Shires' Crissie Rhodes said of the concert: "Ben and I are delighted to be performing at 'One Big Night for BBC Children in Need. We are massive fans of Sir Tom and have played shows with him this summer. Sir Tom Jones and Rob Brydon certainly know how to put on a show, so I have no doubt everyone who comes along will be in for a very special evening."
The concert takes place at The SSE Arena, Wembley, on Thursday 8th October; tickets are on sale now from bbc.co.uk/pudsey. The show will transmit prime time on BBC One during the week of the annual BBC Children in Need Appeal which this year takes place on Friday November 13th.
