'Heart of Gold', an evening of entertainment and fundraising in aid of Kids Company. The black tie event will boast performances from Jamie Cullum, Laura Mvula and Elli Ingram alongside some very special guests and a phenomenal house band on March 6th 2014 at Porchester Hall, London.
Set up in 1996 by founder Camila Batmanghelidjh to provide support for vulnerable inner-city children, Kids Company employs more than 550 staff, benefits from some 11,000 people volunteering annually and reaches 36,000 children a year with therapeutic care across London and Bristol.
Laura Mvula says, "I'm really looking forward to being part of Heart of Gold for Kids Company. Sharing the stage with Jamie is always a wonderful experience but to have the added joy of supporting a charity that does so much to help children in London and across the UK is a real honour. It's going to be a great show and hopefully it will raise lots of much needed funds for Kids Company."
The event will host a champagne reception followed by a seated dinner for 400 special guests and a dinner auction. Incredible auction prizes include a meet and greet and tickets to Suggs' One Man Show, a Gibson 2014 SG special guitar signed by all artists performing on the night and a lesson/jam at the Gibson Guitar showroom with the legendary Robbie McIntosh (The Pretenders, sideman and session guitarist for Paul McCartney, John Mayer and Norah Jones), a signed Arsenal shirt and VIP festival tickets.
The Gig Company was established by Suggs' daughter Viva McPherson and Jenny Johnson in 2012, with the aim of putting fun back in to fund-raising through live music events. The target is to raise much needed funds for charitable projects across the UK through their love of music and entertainment.
