Lil' Kim was birthed from one of the most storied crews in hip-hop, but now the former Junior Mafia stand-out is building a team of her own. The Queen Bee always keeps a hot rhyme, but on Wednesday's "RapFix Live" the Notorious K.I.M. will officially introduce her new artist Tiffany Foxx.
Be sure to tune in Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV Jams as well as online on MTV.com because Kim and Foxx aren't the only guests. DJ Clark Kent will man the 1s and 2s, and together, they will surely take a trip down memory lane. Maybe they'll drop a jewel or two about their fallen friend, the Notorious B.I.G., who was tragically murdered on March 9, 1997, 16 years ago.
The last time Kim visited "RapFix" in 2012, she told us a hilarious story of how Biggie once locked her in the hotel room to prevent her from working with 1990s R&B group Jodeci, a group he at one-time had a rivalry with. "Big was very protective of me, like overprotective," she said of her mentor.
Brooklyn will fully be represented when Talib Kweli joins the show to talk about his upcoming Prisoner of Conscious. Kwe's fifth solo LP is slated to feature contributions from Kendrick Lamar, Curren$y, Melanie Fiona, Miguel and Nelly. His current single "Upper Echelon" is an upbeat, boastful affair where Kweli once again reminds listeners of his lyrical prowess.
If the live in-studio guests weren't enough, on this week's episode "RapFix," host Sway Calloway will reveal the #4 and #3 picks in MTV's "Hottest MCs in the Game VIII" list. The competition is heating up as Meek Mill, Future, A$AP Rocky, Kanye West and Big Sean have all claimed their spots, with the #5 MC being announced on Tuesday on MTVNews.com.
