The report said that surveillance video at the store showed that Lohan tried on the gold necklace shortly before it went missing. The store owner filed a complaint with police who obtained a search warrant for Lohan's home. But before they could execute the warrant the necklace was turned in to police by an associate of the actress.
According to celebrity website TMZ.com, Lohan has denied taking the necklace, claiming that the person filing the complaint was 'nuts.'
Lohan, 24, is already under investigation for allegedly assaulting an employee of the Betty Ford rehab clinic, where she spent three months of court-ordered treatment before being released early last month.
Lohan is currently on probation stemming from her conviction for drunk driving. Following repeated violations of the terms of her release, a judge warned her in October that any further violations would result in her being jailed for a minimum of six months.
