The four-minute clip had to be filmed at Lindsay's Los Angeles home earlier in the year as she was under house arrest at the time.
In it, Lindsay, who has been accused of stealing a necklace, is 'interviewed' by Air New Zealand's mascot, Rico - a furry puppet who resembles a wombat.
In the clip, which can be viewed at Air New Zealand's YouTube site, Rico tells the 25-year-old actress, 'As a glamour movie star I know you are loving the jewellings.
'Inside this case I get for you a glamorous jewelling from New Zealand.'
Lindsay says, 'Oh wow, you didn't have to do that. Thank you, it's beautiful.'
Rico says, 'And don't worry, they're paid for.'
Air New Zealand's other Rico ads on its website feature David Hasselhoff, Snoop Dogg, Richard Simmons and the E! channel's Giuliana Rancic.
Lindsay was accused of stealing a USD$2,500 from the LA store Kamofie & Co. earlier in the year.
She has escaped jail but still has to carry out nearly 500 hours of community service.
