The Mean Girls actress had been under house arrest for stealing a $2,500 necklace, and had initially been sentenced to 120 days in county jail but was instead granted home detention because she was a 'non-violent' offender in an overcrowded jail system.
And according to her father, Michael Lohan, his daughter chose not to celebrate her birthday on Saturday in her home state of New York because of her court-imposed community service requirements.
Michael, 51, told the New York Daily News: 'She opted to stay in California instead of coming to New York because she has community service and wanted to concentrate on that. She's doing really, really, really well.'
Lindsay's community service requires her to go to a women's shelter, where she must complete 360 hours of service and she also has to attend an anti-shoplifting class.
