Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen may have overcome a few setbacks in real life, but things aren't looking too bright for the twosome on the big screen. They are set to meet some terrible fates in "Scary Movie 5."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lohan and Sheen will not only play "the world's hottest new couple" but at least one will die in the film's opening sequence. As previously reported, Sheen will revive his role of Tom Logan from the previous "Scary Movie" flicks, while details about Lohan's character remain a bit more mysterious, aside from her character's romantic ties to Logan.
"Expendables 2" star Terry Crews has also just joined the cast, which already includes Ashley Tisdale and Erica Ash as the leading ladies. Filming will begin in September with Malcolm Lee in the director's chair and screenwriter David Zucker on board to pen the script. Zucker worked with Sheen on "Scary Movie 3" and "Scary Movie 4" and he also wrote classics like "Airplane!" and the "Naked Gun" movies. The film is expected to open on April 19, 2013.
The comedy is the latest move for Lohan, as she continues to inch her way back into the world of films and away from her tabloid-making drama. She wrapped up the Lifetime biopic, "Liz & Dick," about Elizabeth Taylor earlier this summer and is currently working on the edgy drama, "The Canyons," written by Bret Easton Ellis and featuring adult film star James Deen.
Since parting ways with "Two and a Half Men," Sheen has been starring on the FX sitcom, "Anger Management." He is set to play the President of the United States in Robert Rodriguez's "Machete Kills" alongside an A-list cast, including Lady Gaga.
So, whose character will end tragically (and perhaps comically) in "Scary Movie 5"? Tell us what you think in the comments!
