Lindsay Lohan promises to get clean

Lindsay Lohan's mother thinks her trip to rehab will be a success.

Dina Lohan has revealed the 26-year-old 'Liz & Dick' actress - who has already been treated for addiction five times since 2007 - was extremely upset before checking in to the Betty Ford Centre in California for 90 days of court-ordered treatment but promised it will the last time she needs to seek help.

She told 'Access Hollywood Live' on Friday (03.05.14): 'Yes I am breathing (a sigh of relief) and I will sleep very soundly this evening.

'We are so happy and relieved that she is in a place and can heal.

'This will be it. Lindsay was extremely upset leaving all of us, we were as well, and she said 'Mommy this is not going to happen again, I'm not going to do this to you guys again'. I said 'It's not your fault, it's something you have to deal with, it's a disease.''

Dina also blamed her ex-husband Michael Lohan for causing their daughter to have to ditch her original plan to seek treatment at the Seafield Centre in New York, claiming he was banned from the facility after he left a treatment program there early 15 years ago.

She said: 'Initially we wanted her here in New York obviously, myself and her siblings, my mom and family is here.

'Michael kept giving them a problem so Lindsay then had to pay the price. They said we're sorry he is just too disruptive and it would not be good for the rest of the patients.'

She also claimed that Lindsay decided not go to Morningside Recovering in Newport Beach after they discovered some issues there.

Asked how her last moments were with Lindsay before she began her treatment, which is part of a deal she struck to avoid jail after pleading no contest to charges for lying to police about driving during a car crash last June, Dina said: 'As a mother we just hugged and cried a lot. We're here for you, we're your family and you'll get through this.

'It is a struggle, it is hard and it's an every day thing.'
