Lindsay Lohan reunited with estranged father

The troubled actress and dad Michael Lohan – who have not seen each for seven months – met yesterday afternoon (07.11.10) at the Betty Ford rehabilitation centre, where Lindsay is currently receiving treatment.

A source said: "Lindsay met Michael at Betty Ford and the pair spent hours together... it was not a fleeting encounter, this appeared well-planned in advance.

"They also went shopping at a local Palm Desert mall, where they were seen walking around together and at one point, were in a jewellery store."

Sources close to Lindsay say it was her idea to meet with Michael, while her mother and Michael’s ex-wife Dina was in New York.

The source added to RadarOnline.com: "Michael turned up at Betty Ford with some gifts and items for Lindsay.

"He is prepared to do anything to get it right this time.”

Michael – who has previously spoken about his fears over Lindsay, saying she is addicted to prescription drugs – refused to talk about their meeting, but did say the 24-year-old star was doing well.

He said: "I have pledged not to comment about anything relating to my daughter.

"However, what I will say is that I am an incredibly proud father tonight. My daughter is progressing extraordinarily well."

Lindsay has previously claimed Michael is the cause of her problems, saying: "I think my biggest focus for myself is learning how to continue to get through the trauma that my father has caused in my life."

Lindsay was ordered by a Los Angeles court to stay in rehab until January 3 2011 after she tested positive for cocaine during a random drug test in September.
