Lindsay Lohan's home has been targeted by burglars.
Police were called to the 'Mean Girls' actress' Los Angeles property at about 3pm on Tuesday (12.05.09) after a security alarm at the property was set off.
A police officer said: "It was an attempted burglary. No property was taken. There was evidence that someone tried to get in her house, but there's no evidence that they actually got inside or removed any of her property."
After being alerted there was a problem at the property by the alarm company, police went to investigate and evidence of an attempted break-in, including pry-marks on a door and damage to a window.
Lindsay was not at home at the time of the incident. 'E! News' has reported a man who has allegedly been stalking the 22-year-old star and making threats against her is a "person of interest" in the case.
At first, police reportedly believed someone had gained entry to the property and ransacked it because it was so "messy". Los Angeles police officer Karen Rayner queried: "Is it normally like this, or did the intruder do it?"
