The 24-year-old star is receiving treatment at the Betty Ford Clinic in California after voluntarily checking in there last month. She decided to seek help after failing two court-ordered drug tests while on probation. She is believed to have tested positive for cocaine and Adderall, a drug taken for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
According to sources, her mother Dina Lohan thinks a new programme based around Lindsay’s current situation could be a hit.
“Not only has Dina been 'shopping' around her upcoming trip to visit Lindsay in rehab at Betty Ford with her other 3 children, Michael Jr,(22), Ali (16) and Cody (13) to media outlets but she is doing it to develop a new reality show!" a source told website kikster.com.
No further details of the programme have been revealed, and Dina hasn’t commented on the reports. If the show goes ahead it won’t be the first she has appeared in, she opened up her home in Living Lohan in 2008. The series followed the Lohan family, focusing on Ali’s attempts to make it in showbusiness.
Lindsay’s father Michael Lohan is dismayed by the reports. He has a tumultuous relationship with the singer-and-actress, having previously called for her to enter rehab after alleging she is addicted to prescription medication.
“Dina can't get a show about her own life, so she's using Lindsay's troubles to get her a reality show,” he lamented to RadarOnline.
