Hollywood star Gwyneth recorded a cameo role for the hit US musical comedy show about a group of high school students who sing in a choir.
Gwyneth portrayed Spanish teach Holly Holiday who joked Lindsay was “totally crazy” to students, before asking them in Spanish: "How many times has Lindsay Lohan been to rehab?"
It has been reported actress Lindsay, who is currently being treated at the Betty Ford Center in California, was saddened by the joke, with the star’s mother Dina revealing her reaction after seeing the programme while inside the clinic.
"Lindsay is so upset with Gwyneth," Dina told Radar. "Lindsay was watching it while in Betty Ford, then she called me and was upset and said, 'Why did she have to do that?'"
Dina went on to explain how her daughter is normally very willing to laugh at herself, and has even done so on shows such as Saturday Night Live, although she felt the Glee episode had gone too far. Lindsay is said to respect Gwyneth a great deal, so the episode is believed to have come us a shock.
“We are the first to make fun of ourselves in our family,” argued Dina. “And Lindsay has even done SNL a few times, but Gwyneth went overboard and it was unnecessary... Lindsay thought she was a friend and it was disappointing.”
Lindsay checked into the Betty Ford Center after failing two court-ordered drug tests while on probation. She has been ordered by a judge to stay in the facility until January 3 next year.
