Earlier this month the troubled actress was released from the Betty Ford Center in California. She had been ordered to attend the rehab facility after failing two court-ordered drug tests while on probation.
And now Betty White, an acting old hand who has featured in films such as Lake Placid and The Proposal, has reminded Lindsay that she is in a privileged position.
“Stay professional! Respect the business that you are in,” the 89-year-old told In Touch.
Betty, who celebrated her latest birthday on Monday, argued that fortune has been kind to the younger actress, despite her well-documented struggles with drugs.
But the more experienced star also told Lindsay, 24, that she should smile away her time in the industry to prove her good fortune.
“You are lucky to do what you love - respect it and enjoy it,” Betty added.
