Mel B would reportedly like to be on "good terms" with her family again.
The former Spice Girl is rumoured to have fallen out with her younger sister Danielle and her mother Andrea because they don't get along with her husband, Stephen Belafonte, 39. But now she will be spending more time in the UK thanks to her judging role on The X Factor, Mel is apparently hoping to get their relationship back on track.
"Mel feels it's time to let bygones be bygones," a source close to the 39-year-old told British newspaper The Daily Star. "She's feeling very positive about her career at the moment, and so doesn't want this family rift to keep rearing its ugly head. Hopefully by the end of the year the ladies will all be on good terms again."
The Wannabe singer is reportedly offering the ladies free tickets to all the live X Factor shows as an olive branch. However, the source adds she could have an ulterior motive to wanting to reconnect with her sibling and mother.
"It has crossed Mel's mind that there's going to be a lot more attention on her once the X Factor properly kicks off," they added. "And the last thing she needs will be having family members airing her dirty laundry in public."
But it might be hard for Mel to make inroads considering how upset Danielle, 33 has been about the situation in the past. Back in 2011 she told the British edition of OK! magazine that she hadn't had a chance to introduce her son Hendrix James Lee to her sibling because she hadn't spoken to her.
"I'm so sick of pretending everything's OK. I don't even know if she's aware I've had a baby. Mel hasn't spoken to any of our family or friends in the UK for over two years," she said. "I don't have her number, I don't know where she lives – I wouldn't know how to get in touch with her. I follow her on Twitter to make sure she's OK."
