Mel B insists the only scary thing about her is that she's "unpredictable".
The star earned the nickname Scary Spice when she was in the Spice Girls, alongside Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Mel C. She has since forged a successful TV career too and is a judge on America's Got Talent, with the star insisting her terrifying nature has been overblown.
"The scariest thing about me, I think, is probably that I'm unpredictable. You don't know what you're gonna get and when you're gonna get it!" she laughed to ew.com.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Spice Girls and there has been a lot of talk about a possible reunion. Mel C recently shot down the speculation and it's thought Victoria isn't interested because of her growing fashion career.
However, Mel can't help but reminisce about her music past.
"It's funny; there have been a few Spice themed segments in the auditions [for America's Got Talent], and it always makes me go 'Awww, I miss my girls,'" she admitted.
The new season of the show hits screens tonight, with Mel joined on the panel by Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Howard Stern. She believes they all bring something different to the show, not least because they've had such varied careers – Heidi is a model, Howie a comedian and Howard a radio DJ.
The most important thing to Mel is the talent they uncover, and she's hinted about the kind of act she'd like to see triumph this time around.
"There are many different acts that I like to watch during the audition season and during the live shows," she said. "This year, I'm leaning more towards the magicians, cause they're young, they're very current and they are making magic seem like real magic."
