The former Spice Girls star ' who was nicknamed Scary Spice during her time with the group ' recently joined the Australian version of the TV talent show as a judge alongside Natalie Bassingthwaite, Ronan Keating and Guy Sebastian and after auditions started this week, the British singer is enjoying it more than she expected.
Mel ' who is pregnant with her third child ' said: "What can I say, it's been an interesting two days. Long days, may I say? We have definitely captured some amazing talent in Brisbane. And also some very strange, funny, and quirky, talent (if you can call it that!).
"Who'd a thought telling people they were terrible could be so much fun?!? Can't wait for you guys to see what fun and chaos we created at the 'X Factor' auditions.
"It sucks cuz you have to see it to believe it! But one thing I can say is you will NOT be disappointed. Scary Spice came out in full effect! Brisbane Entertainment Centre was packed full of people booing, cheering, and singing along. It's amazing how long you can hold your pee, as a pregnant woman, when you got work to do. Haha."
Despite her working commitments, Mel has been enjoying exploring Australia with her husband Stephen Belafonte and recently organised him a special birthday surprise ' though she is unsure whether her spouse enjoyed it as much as she did.
She explained on her blog: "Since we were in Sydney, I organised the perfect birthday surprise. We took a 45 minute seaplane, to our lunch destination. As romantic as it was, I was actually inwardly chuckling that Stephen was so afraid on the seaplane.
"The weather was amazing, the food was great, and with Stephen being Stephen, he managed to hitchhike somebody's yacht around the bay. It was so nice to get four or five hours together to just chill and chat, and take in the Sydney scenic view.
"For me the most frightening part was the little boat to and from the seaplane! I would definitely recommend everyone to try this!"
