Mel B's daughter Angel worries that her baby sister might be "dead" when she's sleeping.
Mel gave birth to daughter Madison Brown Belafonte at the beginning of September. This is her and husband Stephen Belafonte's first child together, although the 36-year-old singer has two other daughters from previous relationships.
Mel had Phoenix Chi, 12, with ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar and four-year-old Angel with actor Eddie Murphy.
Mel says Angel sometimes struggles with the new family dynamics.
"[Madison's] just adorable. She's gotten all wrinkly, like chubster. I love it, I just want to squeeze her thighs. I just want to kiss her cheeks, it's great!" she exclaimed in an interview with the Kyle and Jackie O radio show.
"Phoenix helps out a lot. She doesn't do everything – she helps me I'm the mum!
"Then Angel, my four-year-old, every now and again goes, 'Is the baby sleeping or is the baby dead?' and I go, 'Angel, the baby is not dead, and I know you're a little bit jealous because you got your nose pushed out of joint as the youngest child' so I have to keep her involved in everything! She helps me bath the baby, put the socks on the baby."
Mel is currently in Australia for her role as a judge on the Australian X Factor. Mel has no acts left in the competition, which means she's been able to spend more time with her brood.
"The last two-and-a-half weeks I've had so much time with the family, it's been beautiful. We've been to the beach, we've been on boats, we've been doing a little bit of sight-seeing," she explained.
Mel hit international stardom with the Spice Girls, who championed confident females. The star doesn't understand why Australia isn't embracing female acts on their TV talent shows.
"I don't know why Australia hasn't got that girl power – they need to sort that out," she exclaimed.
