The mum of three will now promote the healthy-eating specialists in Australia and New Zealand.
Mel, 36, says she wants to lose 15kg of baby weight after giving birth to her latest daughter, Madison, just five weeks ago.
Speaking at the launch in Sydney’s Centennial Park today, Mel, who is also a judge on the Aussie version of The X Factor, said, “I was eating literally morning, noon and night, it didn’t matter what time, I was just eating.
“I was a house.
“I love my humps and bumps, but when a newspaper described by shape as the, ‘Bootylicious, curvylicious, post-baby body as Melanie, I knew I had to do something, I had to get the eating under control.”
Mel added, “Life gets a bit crazy when you’ve got three daughters but it’s important for us mums to live healthy and to be in good shape.
“Mums really need to take the time for themselves and get to a place where they are happy with their body again.
“We should not put it off because we deserve more than that.
“A healthy mum equals a healthy, happy family.”
She said, “Jenny Craig is a no brainer for me.
“I don’t have to think about anything. I get a coach, and she does the thinking and the planning. I just eat and go. It’s perfect.
“Jenny Craig has been around for 30 years. That depth of experience has to count for something.”
Amy Smith, managing director of Jenny Craig, said, “Mel told us she doesn’t like dieting at all.
“Our team of nutritionists and doctors have created a programme especially for women like Mel who have recently given birth, that takes into consideration the nutrient levels needed for breastfeeding women.”
Mel follows in the footsteps of Aussie celebrity fatties Magda Szubanksi, Bridesmaids star Rebel Wilson, and actor Shane Jacobson in promoting Jenny Craig.
