Mel B has reportedly set her sights on a judging role on The X Factor, claiming she'd be "perfect" for the show.
The ambitious British singer has allegedly approached the UK version of the singing talent contest to sell herself as the ideal member to join the next series.
Although Mel recently signed up to be a judge on America's Got Talent, it is thought she is planning to fly to the UK in June to appear at the X Factor auditions.
She would then return to the US to complete filming for America's Got Talent, returning in time for The X Factor live shows which commence in October.
Mel's already approached the show's boss Simon Cowell and judge Louis Walsh to convince them she is the perfect choice.
"Mel's been telling Simon and Louis: 'I'll save the show's ratings!'" a source told British magazine Closer. "She's been saying she'd be perfect because she loves drama , which she knows the viewers love."
Known for the nickname Scary Spice she earned in the Spice Girls, Mel's renowned for her fiery personality. Her brand of openness was a hit when she was a guest judge stint on the series last August.
"Simon loves Mel's no-nonsense attitude and thinks she could shake up the show. Last year, it had its lowest ratings ever, and Simon's desperate to turn everything around," an insider continued.
The 37-year-old's appointment on NBC show America's Got Talent sees her replace judge Sharon Osbourne.
Sharon quit the show last year amid controversy regarding NBC and her son Jack.
The 60-year-old claimed the channel had fired Jack from his reality series as a result of his multiple sclerosis.
It is thought Sharon is also being considered for the UK X Factor judging spot, with would mark her return to the programme.
"Everyone is in the dark about line-up," the source finished. "Cheryl Cole and Sharon Osbourne are in the running too."
