MEL B has praised Disney for making a film with an African-American heroine.
The former Spice Girl said the feature-length animated movie should have been made years ago.
The Princess And The Frog tells the tale of young girl named Princess Tiana, voiced by Anika Noni Rose, who lives in New Orleans' French Quarter during the Jazz Age.
The film, which also includes John Goodman and Oprah Winfrey providing voices, is scheduled for release later this year.
Brown, 33, said: "It seems to cause some controversy that the princess falls in love with a white prince in the movie. I can't see why there should be a problem.
"We should be applauding interracial relationships and have more of an open mind. It's brilliant. In this day and age, races are integrated - we have a black President of America now - so it shouldn't matter."
