Mel B is reportedly "pushing" for the Spice Girls to reunite for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The star apparently thinks the idea of performing at the sports event is fantastic and is trying to convince her former band members to take part.
Geri Halliwell supports her and has previously said she would love to team up with her old bandmates – Victoria Beckham, Mel B, Emma Bunton and Mel C. However, fashion designer Victoria is reportedly more reluctant.
"Mel B is pushing for it to happen. It would be an opportunity of a lifetime for the band to perform in front of a worldwide audience in front of the best athletes in their country - well, there are no words!" a source told website Radar Online. "Mel B and Emma Bunton are agreeable to doing it, but the holdout seems to be Victoria Beckham. She has so much going on… and she isn't agreeing to it - yet!"
Mel C is a huge sports fan and last year she said the upcoming Olympics would be the perfect occasion for the group to appear together on stage again.
"Officially we don't know anything yet but I think it's a brilliant idea," she said. "It would be wonderful for all five of us to appear and I'm sure all the girls would be up for it. Let's petition for this and make it happen."
Meanwhile, the highly anticipated Spice Girls theatre production is going full steam ahead.
Scary Spice Mel B reportedly signed an allowance to use her name in the musical last week, following the approvals of the other women.
"The girls are so very excited for their musical to be released. They absolutely love what [writer] Jennifer Saunders has done with the script. It's going to be unlike anything anyone has ever seen on stage," an insider said. "Fans of the Spice Girls and younger generations that never knew their music will get to experience what Girl Power is all about!"
