Mel B won't let her children listen to "hardcore gangster rap".
The former Spice Girl and her husband Stephen Belafonte have a six-month-old daughter Madison together, while Mel has two other girls from previous relationships, Phoenix Chi and Angel Iris.
The star has discussed her daughters' musical tastes, and says she allows them to listen to their own tastes within reason.
"Well, obviously I'm not going to play hardcore gangster rap for my kids round the clock, but I think, especially with the internet and stuff these days, they listen to what they want. That's with my 13-year-old. But Angel, she's still at the nursery rhyme stage, so I'm safe with her," she told the Kyle and Jackie O radio show.
"But you know, teenagers are going to listen to anything."
Mel is currently residing in Australia, after landing roles in both the Australian versions of The X Factor and Dancing with the Stars. Consequently, she is putting her children through schooling in the country and is happy about her decision.
"I rode the school bus the other day, it was thoroughly enjoyable. I actually enjoyed hanging out with all the kids. Phoenix is 13 so it's good to be cool with the teenagers, man," she joked.
"I pride myself in giving my kids so much confidence – not cocky confidence, just inner confidence. So she's very well adjusted and well travelled."
Mel was recently announced as the new host of Dancing with the stars. She is replacing long-time presenter Sonia Kruger, which she is slightly anxious about.
"I didn't realise she was doing that show for 11 years, so I've got big boots to fill. I'm just hoping that my sense of humour and stuff goes down okay," she said.
"Don't you have that feeling that when things get good, that they can all just get taken away? I do!" she laughed.
