Metallica have confirmed plans to play Wembley Stadium this summer.
The rock legends will be amongst the first groups to appear at the rebuilt venue, which finally opens with a show by George Michael in June.
In an announcement on their official website, Metallica confirmed plans for the gig, which is part of their "Sick Of The Studio '07" European tour.
The London date will be the second time they've played Wembley, following the Freddie Mercury tribute show in 1992, as Lars Ulrich confirmed.
"Sometimes we get a little tired of staring at the same four walls of the recording studio, as well as the same faces that inhabit the studio day in and day out, and we need to get out and just PLAY!
"This tour gives us a chance to stretch out a bit and jam in front of real fans", the drummer commented.
