Metallica has a new "first" for their career, their first appearance at San Diego's Comic-Con.
The annual convention sees up to 100,000 fans in attendance to the multiple conference halls and has branched out in recent years to not only include comics but also film and TV with some of the biggest stars in the world appearing to promote their latest projects.
Metallica will be appearing to promote their upcoming 3D movie Metallica Through the Never which hits IMAX theaters on September 27 and going wide on October 4.
The band is scheduled for Friday, July 19 from 6:30 to 7:00 in Hall H at the San Diego Convention Center and will be joined by the film's star, Dane DeHaan, writer and director Nimrod Antal and producer Charlotte Huggins. Along with talking about the film, they will be presenting exclusive preview footage.
On Sunday, the band added that they will be playing a semi-secret show in conjunction with their Comic-Con appearance.
We can't just TALK about the film when we are in San Diego… we want to play too! Following our chat in Hall H at Comic-Con, we'll be heading out to a super-secret spot to have some fun and hit the stage.
Comic-Con attendees will have a chance to win tickets at the Hall H event and Met Club members should keep their eyes peeled here for more details about chances to win tickets too.
Stay tuned!
