It has been revealed that actors Nicolas Cage and John Cusack have been discussing the possibility of taking part in upcoming thriller The Frozen Ground.
Directed and written by Scott Walker, The Frozen Ground is based on the story of a real-life serial killer Robert Hansen.
According to Deadline, Cusack would be starring as the sadistic killer, Robert Hansen, a family man who kidnaps women and hunts them in the Alaskan wilderness. On the other hand, Cage would be taking over the role of a local state tropper who after finding a survivor, tries to catch the serial killer and get him convicted for his crimes. It is estimated that Hansen killed between 17 and 21 people over a period of 12 years.
Meanwhile, Cage who was last seen in Season of the Witch and Drive Angry is set to star in the superhero movie Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance whilst Cusack will be replacing Tobey Maguire in the film adaptation of The Paperboy.
The Frozen Ground will see the actors reunite for the first time since Simon West's 1997 Con Air.
