Cage's former business manager filed the cross-complaint against the star in Los Angeles Superior Court.
He claims the actor is bound by an agreement to pay for his attorneys' fees and cover any financial losses he may suffer if sued in connection with his role as a co-trustee of the Hancock Park Real Estate trust, a legal mechanism through which Cage holds title to property.
According to a report on City News Service, Levin, who resigned from his co-trustee role in April 2009, maintains Cage failed to fulfill his commitments after filmmaker Bradley Lindsley bought a home from Cage eight years ago for $3 million.
In addition to payment of his fees, Levin is also asking that a lien be placed on a $2.8 million home owned by the Cage trust in Hancock Park.
Cage sued Levin in Santa Monica Superior Court in October 2009, blaming him for reckless spending that included failing to pay the actor's tax bills.
Levin countersued and the two later settled.
