Aussie Nicole, wearing a demure black dress, told how she wants to keep snakes as pets and said she is looking forward to travelling back to Australia to appear on one of the special editions of Oprah Winfrey's chat show which will be filmed there next week.
Nicole, 43, joked with Conan, saying if she were born a boy she'd look like him because they had the same colour hair.
She also confused Conan by telling him that in Australia, red-haired people are called 'blueys'.
She said she loved having an alpaca as a pet at her and husband Keith Urban's home in Nashville where they live with daughter Sunday Rose, two, adding, 'I want some more exotic animals.'
Nicole was promoting her new movie, Rabbit Hole.
