A source told UK newspaper the Daily Mirror: 'Nicole is crushed and has shed so many tears. Steve's been a shoulder to cry on and a real gent. They have become close and have met up outside the studio. He listens to her and makes her laugh.'
But the source insisted the pair were just friends, saying that the former Pussycat Doll's friendship with the 34-year-old Welsh star was “all very innocent”.
The insider added: 'There is unmistakable chemistry there. Steve flirts with her whenever he can, but she laughs it off.'
