Nicole Scherzinger 'opens up about Lewis split'

Nicole Scherzinger has hinted at her relationship heartbreak, saying splitting up "sucks".

The American singer is recently thought to have parted ways with her long-term boyfriend Lewis Hamilton, just days after he said he was considering proposing.

The star is currently a judge on the UK version of The X Factor, which is auditioning around Britain at the moment. When a wannabe launched into an original track about a break-up this week, Nicole gave an insight into what she's been going through.

"It pulled on my heartstrings," she is quoted as saying by British newspaper The Sun.

"It sucks doesn't it? Really sucks... It's so depressing but it's so good. I would buy your album."

Nicole is trying not to be too down about her private life. She celebrated her 35th birthday at the end of last week and has been amazed by the amount of well-wishes she has received.

"Even though Nicole is going through a tough time she was determined to get on with things. Throughout the day she was showered with presents from contestants after celebrating her 35th birthday during the week," an insider explained.

"She really appreciated that and she even impressed her fellow judges by doing the splits during a break in auditions."

Nicole and Formula One ace Lewis met at an awards show in 2007, but split in early 2010. They reunited just a few months later and there has been constant speculation they were planning to wed.

It's thought they decided to go their separate ways due to their hectic work schedules. While Nicole splits her time between the UK and America, Lewis is based in Switzerland.
