The hotel heiress has spoken of the terror she experienced during the incident, and has claimed Nathan Parada was carrying two knives as he attempted to enter her Los Angeles mansion in the early hours of the morning. Parada was later charged with felony burglary and attempted burglary.
Following the incident Paris has upped her security, installing a state-of-the art system which features laser beams and cameras. She has also employed two men to patrol her property around the clock.
"It was so scary," she told Radar Online. "This crazy man with two huge knives was trying to bang through my windows and come in. God knows what he was going to do.
"It's just scary that someone could come into my home like that where I always feel so safe."
Paris has praised her boyfriend Cy Waits for coming to her rescue. She claims Cy persuaded the intruder to drop his weapons and remain calm until the police arrived. Paris says Cy acted bravely throughout the episode and has called him a “hero”.
"The cops took a little while to get there, so he literally had to hold him with a gun down on the floor and get the knives away," she added. "It was like something out of a movie. He is definitely my hero.
"He said he knew that we were in there and he was going to do what he had to do. That is just what the police told us."
