Paris Hilton: `Sex tape scandal made me look like a slut`

Ex-boyfriend Rick Salomon leaked 'embarrassing' and 'humiliating' footage of the couple being intimate, and eight years on, the heiress said she is still haunted by it.

During an interview with mum Kathy for Piers Morgan's CNN show, she said, 'I just felt so betrayed. This was not some random guy this was someone I was with for a few years.

'I can't believe that he would do something like that to me. It's something that changed my life forever.'

She continued, 'You know, when I was a little girl I looked up to people like Princess Diana and these women, and I feel like he took that away from me.

'This is not what I planned. I didn't want to be known as that. And now when people look at me they think that I'm something I'm not, just because of one incident, one night with someone who I was in love with.

'People assume 'Oh, she's a slut,' just because of one thing that happened to me, and it's hard because I'll have to live with that the rest of my life and explain it to my children. It's something that's changed my life forever and I'll never be able to erase it.'

Sobbing, her mum added that Paris didn't leave the house for three months after the tape surfaced, and the family had to have therapy to cope with it.
