Ray Davies, former Kinks frontman, has had to cancel a US gig due to the injuries he suffered from an earlier mugging.
As previously reported on Music News, the singer was shot in the leg in New Orleans after chasing a mugger who held a female companion at gunpoint in January. At the time the injuries seemed insignificant.
However Davies has been forced to pull out of a New York appearance following medical advice.
Davies was due to appear at the 14th annual Tibet House benefit concert at Carnegie Hall alongside David Byrne.
A statement on the star's official website reads: "Ray has been advised by his medical and insurance advisers that he cannot appear at the Tibet House at Carnegie Hall on the 25th February due to the injuries he received in January.
"These injuries were more serious than originally broadcast in the media and Ray is still undergoing treatment. However, he is hoping to return to the UK soon. Ray would like to emphasise his continuing support for the Tibet House as a worthy cause and hopes very much to do similar benefits in the future. Ray also sends his appreciation to all well wishers."
