Red Light Company and Blood Red Shoes are today unveiled as the latest acts to join the 2000trees festival bill.
Red Light Company look set to enter the stadium-filling big league with their unashamedly
populist approach to indie pop. The London-based five piece have attracted attention from Jo Whiley and Zane Lowe and released their debut album 'Fine Fascination' earlier this month (MARCH).
Indie punk duo Blood Red Shoes have matured into an uber-confident rock 'n' roll machine and are currently working on their second album, a follow up to last year's critically acclaimed 'Box of Secrets'.
Other acts announced today are Attack! Attack!, Godsized, Jay Jay Pistolet, Charlie Barnes, Keyboard Choir, Napoleon IIIrd, Gloria Cycles, Patti Plinko and her Boy, Papa's in Love and Silverfall.
They join headliners British Sea Power, Fightstar and Frank Turner and around 60 acts at the award-winning weekend of live music in the picturesque Cotswolds.
The festival, which sold out last year and won the 'A Greener Festival Award', takes place on July 17 and 18 at Upcote Farm, near Cheltenham.
Early entry passes have almost sold out for just 500 festival fans to enjoy a 'Special Guests Night' of live music – and a prime camping spot – on July 16.
Festival organiser James Scarlett said: "We are delighted to confirm Red Light Company, Blood Red Shoes and the many more acts who will be performing at this summer's 2000trees festival.
"We have enjoyed watching every one of them perform on stage, to ensure we give a platform to the best live bands and bring together an eclectic mix of musical talent."
The festival features a wide range of music across three stages, with everything from rock, indie, folk and metal to disco pop, dance and the downright strange.
More acts are still to be announced.
The festival was born out of the organiser's disillusionment with the mainstream music festivals they had been attending for the last decade. Six friends increasingly frustrated with ever spiralling costs, poor facilities and pursuit of profit at all costs.
They were determined to set up an event with less commercial emphasis, to instead be about a love of live music and having a great time in a relaxing, affordable and inspiring environment.
Tickets cost £47 and early entry passes for July 16 cost £7. For more information visit www.twothousandtreesfestival.co.uk
