The 37-year-old British singer lives in the US with wife Ayda Field, and said that people across the pond are a lot more optimistic than back in England.
Talking to The Sun, he explained, 'I live in LA and everything is very positive, where people say 'thank you, have a nice day' and all that sort of business. It can be shallow but I like it.
'But you come to England, you get off the plane and you say, 'Have a nice day' and they go, 'It's probably not gonna be. I'm gonna see something awful today'.'
