The 'Angels' singer – who married the actress last Saturday (07.08.10) – jokingly asked the actress to marry him during a live radio show in November, but didn't officially pop the question until a month later, when he took the blonde beauty to the place where they first met.
Ayda said: "Really early on Christmas Day morning, Rob says we have to go for a drive and see if the Coffee Bean is open. I'm thinking, 'This is really strange.' And then we pulled up to the house, which we were having renovated, and the car stops and he tells me to get out of the car.
"He handed a card to me and inside was a playing card, with 'Happy Christmas Mrs. Williams. I love you, Robert' written on it.
"And written on black marker pen, on all four queen cards, one after the other were the words, 'Will' 'You' 'Marry' 'Me?' Then he dropped onto one knee. I said, 'Yes!' "
Robbie has revealed both the cards and location are particularly significant to the couple.
He explained to Britain's Hello! magazine: "When we first started going out, this weird thing would happen when I had a deck of cards – I would split the pack and always come up with a queen of hearts. Because I'm into mysticism, it filled my heart and made me stop worrying about whether I was with the right person.
"It was on the spot where we first met, where she got out of the car on a blind date."
