Steven Tyler is in Nashville working with songwriters for a new country album.
Tyler is ready to sign with Big Machine Records, home of some of Nashville's biggest names including Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts and Tim McGraw.
The Aerosmith lead's interest in country is already known after he talked about a possible album as far back as last fall, but it is his continuing support of the genre, including an appearance on Wednesday's American Idol in support of this season's mentor, Scott Borchetta of Big Machine, that has been fueling speculation that a signing could come sooner than later.
Tyler does have dates with Aerosmith this summer as they continue to promote their 2012 release Music From Another Dimension.
