Michael J. Fox has called up Taylor Swift after a Tina Fey Golden Globes jokes took on a life of its own.
Fox's 23-year old son Sam and Clint Eastwood's daughter Francesca served as Mr and Ms Golden Globes at the awards show during the week, directing the stars on and off the stage.
Nominee Taylor Swift was in the audience.
In one of her jokes, Tina Fey said, "And you know what, Taylor Swift. You stay away from Michael J. Fox's son!"
Co-host Amy Poehler added "Or go for it," then Tina said, "No, she needs some 'me time' to learn about herself."
Taylor is notorious for writing songs about ex-boyfriends. Later when Michael J. Fox was asked if he would approve of his son going out with Taylor he commented, "I don't keep up with it all. But Taylor Swift writes songs about everybody she goes out with, right? What a way to build a career."
The quote went viral and was that was enough for Michael to ring Taylor swiftly to apologise.
Today she tweeted to her fans, "Hey everybody, Michael J. Fox got in touch with me today and we are good. Thank you for having my back."
The entire incident wouldn't have happened at all if Michael J. Fox's Back To The Future DeLoreon were real. He could have simply travelled back to 1955 and made sure Taylor's grandparents had never met.
