Taylor Swift is reportedly ready to take John Mayer back.
The American singer was spotted cosying up to her ex-boyfriend at the after-party for the Country Music Awards in Las Vegas recently. The pair reportedly spent the evening glued together, fuelling speculation that Taylor is ready to rekindle her relationship with newly-single John.
"They snuck off to a corner and were all over each other," a source told the British edition of Grazia magazine. "At one point he had her hands on his knees, with him holding her waist – they were deep in conversation."
Taylor, 23, was famously dumped by lothario John, 35, after the couple dated briefly from late 2009 to early 2010. The singer exacted her revenge by penning cryptic ballad Dear John, in which she sang, "Dear John, I see it all now it was wrong/ Don't you think 19's too young to be played with?/ Your dark twisted games when I loved you so."
John hit back, telling Rolling Stone he was "humiliated" by the song, though he later admitted he was "a jerk" to Taylor during their brief relationship.
Taylor went on to date actor Jake Gyllenhaal, Kennedy heir Conor, One Direction star Harry Styles, rocker Tom Odell and Hawaiian surfer John Florence, while John famously romanced singer Katy Perry. A reunion between Taylor and John wasn't looking likely until John split with Katy in March, thus opening the door to single Taylor.
Despite their turbulent history, Taylor is reportedly ready to give their romance another shot following their latest encounter.
"They shared a deep connection that she's never found again," the insider explained. "She's really hoping that his heart will be in it for the long run this time."
