Taylor Swift wants to learn "how to make [relationships] last."
The 22-year-old country crooner has been romantically linked to Harry Styles of British boyband One Direction recently.
Taylor has had a string of failed relationships with famous boyfriends in the past, including John Mayer, Taylor Lautner, Jake Gyllenhaal, Joe Jonas and most recently 18-year-old college student Conor Kennedy.
The star acknowledges that her love affairs are short-lived.
"[I don't know] how to make them last!" she revealed in the January edition of Cosmopolitan magazine.
"I've never had a really long relationship, so I have no idea what that's like. Wish me luck for the future!"
Taylor doesn't have a specific type.
She is more attracted to personality than physical appearance.
"I really don't have any rules about dating when it comes to height, age, career choice, anything like that. It doesn't matter," she explained.
"It's really more about strength of character. When it comes to age I've been all over the map!"
Taylor admits that she is often somewhat of a saboteur from the outset in her relationships.
"I think that idea of love I hope for is that you learn a lesson and you don't have to learn it twice," she said.
"But the song I Knew You Were Trouble is about when I knowingly made the same mistake twice. I couldn't resist it – there's that temptation to push yourself into a risky situation with someone who is going to hurt you, and that's what that song is about: not trusting your own instincts and ignoring all the red flags."
