Taylor Swift has been spotted hanging out with Robert F. Kennedy's grandson, Conor Kennedy. The country pop star has been photographed near the famed Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts. While the rumored romance is fresh, Swift's affiliation with the America's preeminent political family is hardly new.
So, as the chatter around the relationship continues to get louder, MTV News is looking back at Swift's short-lived timeline with the 18-year-old and her longer one with the entire Kennedy clan.
In January, Rory Kennedy, Conor's aunt, announced that the Speak Now singer had written a song for the Kennedy family. They were together at the Sundance Film Festival, where a documentary about Ethel Kennedy was screened.
That same month, Taylor opened up to Vogue magazine about her fascination with the Kennedy family and shared that she was star-struck upon meeting several of the Kennedy's female members. "I got to spend the afternoon with Ethel a couple of weeks ago. She is one of my favorites because you look back at the pictures of her and Bobby and they always look like they are having the most fun out of everybody," she said. "You know, 11 kids, all these exotic animals on their property. I've read a lot about them."
While there had been few to no headlines linking Swift and the Kennedys for the last six months, her connection to the storied American family really began to make a splash again in the gossip pages this summer.
Swift spent her Fourth of July weekend with the family, where she was photographed hugging Kennedy cousin and the always charitable Patrick Schwarzenegger. The photos immediately sparked rumors that Swift and Schwarzenegger were an item. According to Us Weekly, "Glee" star Dianna Agron also chilled with the First Family. Conor was also with his family that weekend celebrating.
Patrick coincidentally worked with Swift's ex, Taylor Lautner, making a cameo in the upcoming Adam Sandler flick "Grown Ups 2." They were snapped hanging out together on set.
By mid-July, it was announced that Swift would be receiving the Ripple of Hope Award from the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice. She will receive the award for her many charitable efforts at a star-studded affair in December.
While it may have seemed like Schwarzenegger was the lead contestant as her escort for the night later this year, Swift denied anything romantic happened between them in an interview with Access Hollywood at the Teen Choice Awards.
"Patrick's a friend!" she said. "That's why I don't read any gossip about me because I don't want to be weirded out by who people think I'm dating," she explained. "I should just warn guys [who talk to me.] ... 'This is what you can expect tomorrow on all these different blogs.'"
With the speculation about her and Patrick put to rest, new photos of Swift with that other Kennedy, Conor, have many fans wondering if he's the Kennedy she's really into. Photos of the two from this past weekend show them hugging and holding hands in Massachusetts. According to the New York Post, it's their third date. In addition to the Fourth of July trip, they also were spotted last week getting pizza in Mount Kisco, N.Y.
