Taylor Swift believes everyone goes through "phases" of being attracted to "bad boys".
The country singer is known for addressing her love life in songs and allegedly penned track Dear John about her failed relationship with notorious ladies' man John Mayer.
The 23-year-old recently released the track I Knew You Were Trouble, about a girl falling for someone who she knows will only mess her around.
"I think it's just like an opposites attract kind of thing. I don't know that all good girls are only attracted to all bad boys, I think everyone goes through phases as to what interests them," Taylor told MTV News.
The blonde star has dated a host of famous men and is currently in a relationship with One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles.
With a dating history that includes Taylor Lautner and Jake Gyllenhaal, it's unlikely she will ever run out of lyrical inspiration.
"I had just gone through an experience that made me write this song about, like, knowing the second you see someone like, 'Oh, this is going to be interesting. It's going to be dangerous, but look at me going in there anyway,'" she said of I Knew You Were Trouble.
"I think that for me, it was the first time I ever kind of noticed that in myself, like when you are curious about something you know might be bad for you, but you know that you are going to go for it anyway because if you don't, you'll have greater regrets about not seeing where that would go. But I think that for me it all went along with this record that was pushing boundaries, like the sound of this record pushes boundaries, it was writing about something I hadn't written before."
The pretty singer celebrated her birthday this week by spending the day with new beau Harry.
Unfortunately a criminal fan was so desperate to congratulate Taylor he trespassed at her Nashville home and was subsequently arrested by police, according to TMZ.
The 24-year-old man was put into jail and held on a $10,000 bond after allegedly jumping a fence to get to the property in the early hours of Friday morning.
