Were you not able to get a ticket for Taylor Swift's impressive Speak Now Tour? No problem — Taylor's got your back. In her just released video for "Sparks Fly," the singer is giving fans a front-row seat to her show.
The video, directed by Christian Lamb, uses footage shot over a number dates on her summer tour and perfectly encapsulates the tour's high-octane energy including theatrical set changes, dancers, aerialists, fireworks, pyrotechnics, costume changes and the occasional rainstorm.
Word about all of those exciting elements must have spread, since Swift has managed to bump Paul McCartney from the top spot of July's TicketsNow Entertainment Index, according to EW.com. Her tour accounted for more than 6 percent of concert tickets sold via TicketsNow in July, meaning it beat out McCartney's On the Run Tour, which completed its run last week.
With Swift and McCartney sitting at the #1 and #2 spots respectively, the top five included Katy Perry's California Dreams Tour at #3, Lil Wayne's I Am Still Music Tour at #4 and U2's just-wrapped two-year run of their 360 Tour at #5. Swift will be on the road through November, playing dates all across North America before ending up in New York for two sold-out dates, closing out the arena tour.
Much like the video is a thank-you letter to her fans, the tour also served as a way for Swift to show some love to her loyal followers. "We get to have such groovy, cool stuff happening," she said about the over-the-top elements of the show. "I've never had pyro before. I've never had aerialists before. It's got this grand staircase. The stage in itself looks like an old-world theater. I can't believe we get to play stadiums. I'm so excited about this tour. I want to live on that stage. I hope people leave the concert feeling like they know you better."
