Taylor Swift's next album is already her "favourite".
The 24-year-old singer is coming towards the end of her mammoth Red Tour, which started in May last year and will play its last show in Singapore on June 12.
As things start to calm down for Taylor, she's had time to look to the future and start work on her new music.
"With ending The Red Tour, this has been a long tour; this will be the last leg," she laughed during a press conference in Shanghai.
"What that means is I can throw myself into the next project. I've already been working hard on it and it's already my favourite thing that I've ever created. It's exciting knowing this is the end of a musical era that I'm proud of, and it's also exciting moving on to the next."
The songstress is known for her candid lyrics, which often refer to her relationships. Her track Dear John from 2010 album Speak Now is thought to be about her romance with John Mayer, while many songs on current record Red apparently reference her experiences with ex-boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal.
The star revealed that singing about personal experiences makes her feel closer to her fans and also proves that life doesn't need to be lonely.
Taylor also gave an insight into her writing process.
"I get an idea randomly, either in the middle of the night or the middle of the day, that's either a metaphor comparing life or a line that cuts through," she revealed. "I write it down and come back to it when I'm writing a song, but sometimes I'm writing and I start singing without knowing what I'm really saying."
