Taylor Swift never thought she would cut her hair.
The 24-year-old star has been rocking a bob of late, something even she is stunned about. The singer didn't expect to change her appearance so drastically, but explains that it's symptomatic of her life at the moment. She's even dipped her toe into the world of acting with a role in movie The Giver, and is excited to have so many new opportunities.
"I don't know. That has yet to be determined," she told Us Weekly, when asked if she wanted more big-screen roles. "I seem to be changing so much and so quickly these days that it is hard to rule out anything. I never thought that I'd live in New York or even cut my hair. These are all things that changed recently, and it is really funny and interesting how life keeps you on your toes."
One of the reasons Taylor doesn't know about her future in front of the camera is because she's planning a new tour. She explained that she will be playing regular shows for the next two years, which she is so excited about she "can barely function".
The star only has a small part in The Giver, which is based on the book by Lois Lowry. It's set in a world without pain, where a boy is tasked with learning about the 'real world' from an elderly man. Taylor had a scene with Jeff Bridges, which she still can't get over.
"To be honest I was so jet-lagged that my entire time on set slipped away and the days would fade into each other. But the numerous breaks in between takes were the best... Jeff and I held jam sessions in his dressing room with his drums, guitars and keyboard. We'd play, then everybody joined in whether they knew the song or not," she laughed.
Katie Holmes is also in the flick and formed a strong bond with Taylor. They got on so well they even spent time together off set.
"Yep, we had a girls' day! I went over and hung out with Katie and her daughter Suri," the young star explained. "We had our nails done, ate sushi and talked about what our lives are like and everything else that girlfriends talk about."
