Taylor Swift says boys are "the last thing" on her mind.
The 24-year-old popstar had a smash hit with her last album Red and is mostly known for discussing her love life in her music. And while she's dated some of the hottest celebrities around - including Harry Styles and Jake Gyllenhaal - Taylor insists she's not look for romance right now.
"Dating or finding someone is the last thing on my mind, because I can't picture how it could work with the way my life is," she explained to the latest edition of British Vogue.
"I don't know how a guy is supposed to walk next to his girlfriend when there are 20 men with cameras, and he can't protect his girlfriend because that's the life she chose."
Taylor's other high-profile relationships include a brief fling with John Mayer, which began in late 2009 and ended in early 2010. It's thought to have inspired Taylor's song Dear John and there was plenty of media speculation about why things finished.
It's this spotlight that concerns the pretty blonde when it comes to boyfriends.
"I just don't see how it could work, so I don't think about it, and I kind of run from it when it presents itself. 'Cause I don't think any guy really… They think that they would want to get to know me, and maybe date me, but I don't think they want what comes with it," she sighed.
Taylor's career started in country, and the musical genre still inspires many of her more recent songs. Her new album, 1989, is due for release this month and marks a move away from her roots, with catchy single Shake It Off already a smash hit.
"This time around I've chosen the brave and bold way of going about things," she said. "Because with this album I've completely changed the sound of everything I've done until now. So it's interesting to not be afraid of that. You know, I don't want to hurt people's feelings, I don't want to betray Nashville, whatever, but essentially it comes down to challenging yourself as an artist."
