The country music star shot to fame as a teenager and is currently promoting her new album Speak Now. Taylor recently revealed she began penning songs after feeling lonely at school and finds writing lyrics a cathartic process.
The 20-year-old has now confessed she is sometimes struck by inspiration for a new song while she is sleeping and can’t help getting out of bed to write down her thoughts.
"I'm writing always and everywhere - before all if something drastic is happening, if, for example, someone hurt my feelings. Sometimes I get up at three in the morning because I have an idea,” she explained in an interview with German magazine Gala. “Or I space out while talking to my friends - they always tease me because of that."
Taylor admits life as a music star can be tough. Along with the gruelling work schedule, she also has to deal with people criticising her career and speculating about her love life. The musician sometimes finds it difficult to remain positive, insisting she is just a normal human being with real feelings.
"I don't have any recipe,” she replied when asked how she deals with fame. “Sometimes I am able to laugh about it, sometimes it ruins my whole day. I would be a robot if it never hit me."
